Transgenders

“Transgenders”, a very burning topic, something which usually people are not ready to talk about. When my group had initially chosen this topic, I was dead against but now I am really happy that we took this topic. I had imagined people shouting at us when we would ask their opinion about these people but the reality is far from it. They were actually very forthcoming and helpful. Allahabad might be an orthodox city but the people have really modern outlook and that is a really nice thing, shows how India is developing. It is only when people from small cities develop that India develops.

We got varied answers and opinions from people when we asked them about eunuchs. Many of them didn’t know what are eunuchs, so we had tell them that they are called hijra or kinnar in hindi. I don’t know if what everyone told us was the truth but if they were truthful then transgenders seem to have a very bright and promising future. But the thing that disturbed me the most was that when asked do they themselves discriminate between transgenders and other humans , we got a straight no but on the other when asked about their future, people were not optimistic , which is really sad. Optimism is the key to happiness. When people are not optimistic, they automatically tend to be less excited about life, may be because they believe that nothing important can ever happen in their mundane boring lives but everyone’s life is a unique story in itself which god himself has written…..try finding “ the thing” in your story and world will start appearing so interesting!!! Well, that was off the topic…Talking about eunuchs, the government is taking some steps but the most important change is to change the mindset of people which is very difficult but not impossible…..so with hopes in my heart to see a bright future for these people , I bid adieu …….

  1. Optimism still isn't gonna solve our problems...(and it sucks, because it make people too happy!). Optimistic people are often idealists, unlike other others who are realists.

  2. @khushman : i don't agree wid u. being optimistic and being realistic are not like either one or the other. one can be optimistic and realistic both at the same time and that is wat i am talking bout :)
