The notion of freedom

The vacations are on and I am at home! Totally free, having nothing to do. Strange thing is that those things which I so much adored to do when I had to study do not seem to charm me now. Whether it be watching movies, serials, 9gaging, the list does not end here, it goes on to include even something as attractive as sleeping, oh yes, I donot feel like sleeping much nowdays. Wondering if its just me or is this the case with everyone. So this brings us to what am I actually doing these past days, I do watch a movie now and then ( for those who don't know me well, I am the kind of person who watches 3-4 movies per day, so now and then, is, strange ). I have always had a thing for rom-coms and chick flicks, so I have been watching those kinds of movies a lot lately. One of those is "Chasing Liberty", I chanced to watch it on tv and found it something that most of us can relate to even though its about the US president's daughter. On the outside, its a really stupid movie but then if you see it, like me, even you might feel like been there kinds. Its about a girl chasing her freedom ( the movie title...yeah that is double meaning...one of those is these, for the other one, watch the movie ;) ). She is never allowed to be herself, do whatever she wants, roam about and enjoy life in her own way. And then suddenly I realise, isn't this the case with many of us, parental restrictions, societal restrictions, damn, there are restrictions all around us. Are we in the true sense, master of our choice? Are we really doing what we want? Do we have the freedom of thought, speech in the true sense? For a country who takes pride in saying that we have won our freedom (no disrespect to the freedom fighters in any way) , we surely have not been able to maintain that. From a simple school girl who cannot voice her opinions in front of her friends and family to a mature grown up person, who cannot voice his/her opinions for fear of society, the true freedom, the freedom of thought and speech is just an illusion that we have created to soothe our egos. But we are living in a clam shell, we are living our life by rules whereas life should be lived like a bird which can go wherever it wants without restrictions. Our life is our own, we should not live it under the shadow of some real life figure or by the unsaid rules of the vague notion of society. We make the society, the society merely shows us what the majority want, what the majority are doing, it in no sense should be the guiding map of our choices. Getting influenced by our surroundings is different, following the majority without thinking is what I am talking about here. Lets voice our opinions, bring our thoughts to the forefront, for a change do what we like to do, what we want to do. Let us for a change, let our innerself loose. Let us for a change, live life :) :) :)

Random Ramblings

Oh yes, I am back! After all its exam time and I need some place to empty my mind ( whatever little there is in it anyway ;) ) A place to ramble on and on, and yes if I later care about what people might make out of the crappy stuff in my thoughts, I might just disable the comments :D I love how I can control the way things work here but back there in the real world, things are not so easy ( damn >.< ) There people comment on everything, whether or not it is their business or not, but then those are the kind of people none of us should care about. They show so much interest because they find our life way more interesting than theirs can ever be :D :D
Its CCS exam day after tomorrow and because people have already prepared for it, they are now preparing for the ultra boring subject SEN ( for those of you who had the good luck and better judgement of not getting into engineering , its acronym for software engineering) . But I am way too mainstream for doing that :P ( more like lazy :P ), so here I am posing my tidbits on this awesome platform. Also Mom, dad and di are enjoying in mumbai without me ( >.< ), its not like I miss them or anything, but come on, its mumbai :'( ( for those of you who are unaware of my infatuation with the city, do check out some of my earlier posts, sorry for not posting the links, as you might have guessed, I am super lazy :D) . Well all is not wrong on that front, I will be visiting my favourite city in the winters :D :D
Oh yeah, you people must have read the reviews of Rockstar by now or might have even seen it >.< ( damn the exams >.< ). What spine chilling music the movie has man! Totally in love with nadan parinde and kun faya kun <3 <3 <3.
Oh btw did I tell you people about this really cool and hilarious site 9gag.com, now before you think I have ventured into publicity management and stuff, do check it out. Its really awesome, the memes and stick figures their depict our emotions like nothing else. Plus if you venture into the dark lands of sarcasm now and then like me and are  still learning the tricks from the masters, do pay the site a visit ;) .
And yes, I am a big procastinator, but now I guess I should get back to studies :'( Wish me luck :) :)
I will be back soon!!

Doom

A storm so furious
razed the homes
and threw the trees
like ragged dolls

A blinding flash
lashed on the mortals
by the immortal himself
sign of his fury

A torrential rain
making a mockery
of elixir of life
going on endlessly

A ravaging wind
blowing away
the shreds of hope
reciding in your heart

All you creations of god
a harbinger of doom it is
harbinger of times
when all that there will be
is darkness

All you creations of god
his wrath will end it all.
a ball of flame
and then ashes all around......

From the egg to the Sky

From one little white egg
came out a tiny birdie
eyes closed and feathers ruffled
the cutest birdie
her mother had ever seen

As the seasons passed
the eyes opened
and the wings too grew
before her mom's eyes
the birdie transformed into a dove

Tears of joy and tears of sorrow
filled the momma birdie's eye
when her baby went out

Memories of the nest tucked in her heart
and the dreams of the world in her eyes
she flew away to explore the unknown

Fell down quite many times
but picked herself up that many times
found many friends and foes
and found new love too

Was cheated and trampled upon
but also loved and cared for
lessons of the world learnt
a stronger bird she became

With confidence in her mind
and destiny in her hands
she soar away
into the world she now knew
into the sunset she dreamt of......

another random one!

the dentist's tale

Well since long I have been absent from this blog, mostly because I am lazy and also because I had nothing to write about! Now that something interesting is happening with me, I thought why not share! This post is about dentists, my apologies to all my dentist friends reading this ;) Recently I have been attacked by the most pathetic of all pains…toothache :( You can’t do anything about it like massage and all , and also you can’t eat proper food. If you are a foodie like me, may God save you. Initially icecream seems exciting but then two days later with nothing else to eat but icecream, the word icecream just pisses you off. And then the visit to the dentist. The first thing you notice is the long queue of people and you wonder, dude why the bloody hell did I take up engineering, there is so much more money here :( Your belief and self doubt are further reinforced when the doctor charges you 250 bucks and gives you painkillers which you were already taking! And then you see all the elderly people around you and you wonder , how could I fuck up my teeth so much at just 20?? But with 7 fillings and 1 capping, you are still a veteran among those veterans ;) After such a fulfilling experience, you come back to your room looking for some sympathy and like all other kids who remember parents only in times of crisis, you pick up the phone to tell a tale of your misery, dad says “ fauji ki beti ho, itne se dard se kya hota hai? “ , you again think, how the hell did I land up here!
And then when the pain in the tooth doesn’t let you do anything, you end up writing such stupid articles in your DAA answer sheet! Oh yeah….I am writing this in my test :P but I guess I am not the only one here, most of the people are just doodling in their answer sheets, but then this is DAA, what else can you expect :P
Btw all those people thinking of making a career switch, go for dentistry ;)
